The BuzziSkin: an ecological revolution for the interior.

After producing a whole collection made of ecological felt, Buzzispace.com throws a new revolutionary product on the market this fall: the BuzziSkin, made by designer Sas Adriaenssens. Wallpaper, billboard, sound absorbing, aesthetic, ecological and flexible, combined in one product?

The main ambition of Buzzispace.com is to create more cosiness with their products, as well in the office as in our houses. In the office or at home, on both places we search for comfort in combination with cosiness. After the BuzziLight, BuzziZone, BuzziScreen, BuzziBoard, BuzziStool, BuzziPouf and BuzziBag: time was right for something totally new: wallpaper.

Nowadays, wallpaper used in houses or offices has a pure esthetical function. It just decorates the room, nothing more, nothing less. Designer Sas Adriaenssens always struggled with the echoes in minimalistic furnished rooms or in rooms with high ceilings. Then she came up with the idea of using ecofelt on the wall -the same as we used for all the other Buzziproducts- this would have a lot of advantages: acoustic, can be used as billboard, soft, ecological and easy applicable! After testing it in her own house, the BuzziSkin became a fact!

What?

BuzziSkin is a self adhesive wallpaper, available in 3 versions, to use in both house and office. It sticks to anything that is flat and even. So besides walls, the BuzziSkin can also be used on cupboards, doors or tiles. To put this new product on the market, Buzzospace.com collaborated with wallpaper specialist ARTE. The BuzziSkin is available in 3 versions:

a luxurious version, made of ecological bamboo fibre: available in three vintage inspired patterns: 'Wave', 'Blockx' and 'Oval'. Sas Adriaenssens designed this version for the Flemish Masters project, that stimulates intersectoral interaction. In this case, interaction between Buzzispace.com and textile manufacturer ITM (in premiere at the Mood fair in Brussels).
an ecofelt version, with cut-out figures: inspired by the patterns of the luxurious version. Available in five colours and with three different cut-out figures. The customer can combine the colour of the wall underneath with the colour of the felt, all according to his personal taste. (no pictures available for the moment)

Why is this a revolutionary idea?

The materials used for the surfaces of BuzziSkin, are 100% ecological, because they are made with recycled or environment-friendly ingredients. But there is more. This is the first wallpaper with acoustic characteristics: no more echoes in large conference rooms or minimalistic furnished living rooms. The BuzziSkin absorbs the sound and can even be used as sound insulation between two rooms. Furthermore, both the bamboo version and felt version can be used as billboard: put memo's on it in the conference room, hang jewels upon it in the dressing room or the children's drawings in the kitchen.

Materials

Ecofelt: 100 % made of recycled PET bottles.

Bamboo fibre: made of fibres of the fast-growing bamboo plant and therefore 100% biological degradable. Not only grows a bamboo plant 1 meter(!) a day, it also doesn't need insecticide (≠ cotton plants), and it converts five times more CO2 into oxygen than normal trees. Bamboo fibre is strong, UV resistant, colourfast and anti-allergic. Textile manufacturer ITM (supplies fibre for the luxurious version of BuzziSkin) only works with bamboo plants selected by the OCIA (Organic Crop Improvement Association = natural growth without insecticide).
